The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen highlighted artificial intelligence (AI) as a very significant opportunity – if used in a responsible way – in her speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos in early January 2024. We invite a boutique style group of minds* active in AI and internet research again to this inspiring place in the Swiss alps. On 24. and 25. June 2025 participants will exchange on science specific AI challenges based on the European approach to AI and existing national policy papers. We will contribute beyond-the-state-of-art to the further development of solution oriented policies and of research topics for the next EU framework program FP10, as this conference is part of the Next Generation Internet Researchers initiatives of EU Horizon Europe enrichers.ngi.eu and ngi.eu and is following the NGI Forum in Brussels of 19./20. June 25.

At this pivotal moment in technological evolution, #AI Horizon25 offers inspiring elaborating on recent developments in tech and governance, also linked with the US Presidency, key notes and four guided co-creation workshops where thoughts in cutting-edge fields will be collected.

Please find the conference programme and the workshop overview here. The same 4 workshops will be held in parallel on Tuesday and Wednesday. You can register for 1 workshop. If you register for one day (Tuesday or Wednesday), you will take part in the workshop on that day. If you register for both days, you will attend the same workshop on both days.

1. What is AI Horizon25? AI Horizon25 is a boutique-style conference held in Davos, Switzerland, bringing together leading researchers, industry pioneers, and decision-makers in AI and internet research. Over two days, participants will explore the European approach to AI policy, co-create solution-oriented strategies, and contribute to research topics for the next EU Framework Programme (FP10).

2. When and where will the conference take place?

  • Dates: Tuesday, 24 June 2025, and Wednesday, 25 June 2025
  • Location: Davos Congress Centre, Davos, Switzerland

3. Who can attend AI Horizon25? The conference is open to all citizens and parties interested in AI policy and research. It is largely funded by the European Union and the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). Organizers reserve the right to exclude participants without added value or who are unsuitable.
Seat limit: 250 participants.

4. What is the target audience?

5. What will the programme include?

  • Keynote speeches (including insights on the US Presidency and the European approach)
  • Four guided co-creation workshops held in parallel on both days
  • Interactive panel discussions and networking sessions

6. How do the workshops work?

  • There are four thematic workshops running concurrently on 24 and 25 June.
  • Registrants choose one workshop to attend.
  • If you register for only one day, you attend that workshop on the selected day.
  • If you register for both days, you participate in the same workshop on both days to deepen the co-creation process.

  3. Submit payment details.

8. What are the registration fees and payment methods?

  • Registration fees will be charged to your credit card by Davos Congress.
  • You must have your 3D-Secure code ready to verify the transaction.
  • If you do not know your 3D-Secure code, please contact your card issuer.

9. What is the cancellation policy?

  • Free cancellation until 10 June 2025.
  • Cancellations after 10 June 2025 incur a 100% fee.

12. How will my input be used? All participant contributions will be synthesized into bottom-up policy recommendations for the EU, national parliaments, and other stakeholders. Outputs will inform strategy papers and the development of new research agendas under Horizon Europe FP10.
